Subscriptions give you priority access to appointments and offer substantial savings on appointment fees and repeat prescription requests. Plus if you have any unused appointments at the end of the year, you can trade them in for diagnostic services or use them to reduce your monthly payments when you renew. Subscription plans are intended to lessen and spread the cost of our private GP consultations over a 12 month period. They should not be construed as a guarantee of appointment availability, or availablity of a particular type of appointment, or of a particular practitioner. That said, we will make every reasonable endeavour to fit around your requirements.

Appointment allowances must be used within the 12 months of the plan and cannot be rolled over in to a subsequent plan year.

You may spend your appointment allowance in any combination of in person and remote (video/telephone) consultations. You may use any combination of single and double appointments. You may use your allowance for our specialist menopause and lifestyle medicine consultations, as well as for standard GP appointments. Higher value specialist consultations will require more appointment credits than standard GP appointments. There is no obligation to spread your consultations evenly between plan members. Winchester GP cannot engage in or be held responsible for any disagreement that emerges betweeen plan members in regards to how appointments have been allocated between plan members or any other disagreement that arises between plan members.

Redeeming unused appointments

In the first 10 months of your plan year, your appointment allowance can be used towards consultations only, and not towards any of our other services such as pathology. In the final 2 months of your plan year you may choose to 'cash in' some of your remaining appointment credits at the following rates:

Solo subscription - 1 remaining consultation

Nest subscription - 2 remaining consultations

Nest Plus subscription - 3 remaining consultations

Remaining appointments have a cash in value of £75 each and can be used for blood tests or ECGs. Alternatively, you can trade in your unused appointments for monthly money off your next year's subscription. Each unused appointment counts as £5/month off the following year. The same trade in limits apply- Solo- 1 appointment, Nest- 2 appointments, Nest Plus- 3 appointments.

In order to respect each individual plan member's confidentiality, you consent that any named plan member may book an appointment using your appointment allowance without explicit permission from you. You recognise that paying for someone's subscription does not compromise their right to confidentiality as per our standard confidentiality policy.

If you wish to cancel your subscription plan before the end of the plan year, you may do so with one month's written notice. In the event of an early cancellation, we will calculate the Pay As You Go value of the services received by you and your fellow plan members, and if this is more than the sum of the monthly payments made to date, you agree to pay the difference. No refund will be offered if the plan has been under utilised in that time.

If, in cancelling your subscription plan early, you wish to change to a new plan, this will be treated as an early cancellation of the first policy (per the protocol above). If you are ending your policy early because you have already fully utilised your appointment allowance and need a new allowance, you will need to pay off the first subscription in full before we will start a new subscription plan.

Upon written instruction from you, we will remove members from the plan but any appointment allowance they have used will still count towards your cumulative total for the year. Members removed from your plan may still access our services either on a pay as you go basis, or via their own subscription, if they so wish. If there is capacity in your plan, you may add subscribers through the course of the year. However, switching in and out of plan members to maximise it's benefit is not permitted.

Our strict cancellation policy of 24 hours applies to all bookings - appointment credits will not be refunded if cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice.

If at any point Winchester GP feels that the doctor/patient relationship has broken down, for example but not limited to, if you or a plan member are rude or abusive to any member of staff, we reserve the right to terminate the agreement without notice. The Pay as you go value of all services rendered will be due if this exceeds the value of subscription payments made.

Pay As You Go Pricing

Referrals, Investigations, Blood tests

The above prices, for both subscriptions pay as you go, are for consultation only. We do not charge for standard administration such as writing prescriptions, referral letters or sick notes when issued in a standard consultation. Repeat prescriptions issued without a consultation are charged at £15 (but free for subscriber patients) More extensive administration such as insurance forms may be chargeable. If a referral is made, for specialist opinion, imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT) or other investigations, there will be an additional fee for these services, and they will vary according to your chosen provider. We can also provide blood tests, and the cost of these varies widely according to the tests required. Prescriptions

We do not charge to write you a prescription within a standard consultation. Repeat prescriptions written without a consultation are charged at £15 (free for subscribers). When taking your private prescription to the pharmacy, you will be charged by them for the medication. The cost of a privately prescribed medication varies depending on the quantities and the specific medication required, and can be more or less than the standard NHS prescription charge. Appointment overruns

As a courtesy to all of our patients we endeavour to run to time. We appreciate your understanding in this. If you arrive late for your appointment we will do our utmost to assist in the remaining time available, at the doctor’s discretion and with consideration to the convenience of subsequent patients. If an appointment overrun is not practical or possible, we may ask you to rebook and this appointment will be chargeable. If on discussion with your doctor the issues of concern cannot be covered safely in the appointment time available, any additional time used will be chargeable.

Cancellations

You may change or cancel your booking up to 24 hours ahead of your appointment. Cancellations in this time will be refunded minus a £10 administration fee. Within 24 hours of your appointment Winchester GP operates a strict no refund policy for all appointments, whether subscriber or pay as you go. This enables us to keep overall fees to patients as affordable as possible, whilst adhering to industry standard payment terms for our clinicians.
